Two lawyers accused of bribing Police volunteer



The public prosecution has demanded 200 hours of community service as punishment of 2 Amsterdam lawyers of bribing a police volunteer.  The volunteer gave the lawyers offices sensitive information about victims of road accidents.  This gave them a financial advantage over their competitors, according to the prosecutor.

Youngsters in Dutch Jail show Jihadflag

On the internet pictures appear of youngsters in the Dutch youthjail De Hunnerberg in Nijmegen. They are holding drugs and the flags of Islamic terror-organizations. The Ministry of Security and Justice has confirmed that the pictures have been made in that jail. It is claimed that they are three years old. Conversations on the subject have taken place with those detained.

Dutch-Turkish filmmaker receives death threats

After the airing of Dutch-Turkish writer and columnist, Ozcan Akyol weekly documentary on Turkey he received many threats from members of the Dutch Turkish community.  These threats were far more numerous and extreme than he had expected.  After the broadcast on the decreasing tourism in the Turkish town of Antalya, he received threats that the Grey Wolves will cause him a slow and painful death.  Another threat received, was that Akyol had ordered his own coffin in Antalya.

Dutch Tobacco Industry is thriving

Despite the government’s efforts to discourage smoking, which has had a certain impact; in particular with university and college degree adults, and to a lesser extent the low skilled population. 
Yet, the tobacco related industry and the number of producers and wholesalers has remained virtually unchanged over the past ten years.

Policeman who guarded Wilders arrested for leaking information

A Dutch policeman has been arrested because he has leaked information. The corrupt policeman has in the past been part of those security agents which guarded endangered Freedom party leader Geert Wilders. Wilders reacted: “This is incredible. The man walked around here in the corridor of our members of parliament.”

Kings Commissioners: Police abandons Countryside to Criminals

A report of twelve Dutch Kings Commissioners states that in the Dutch countryside criminals can go unhindered about their business. There are no uniformed policemen in the public domain as there is no patrolling. There is a lack of detection capacity. The water police is so understaffed that they have no view on organized crime in the harbors. Ongoing police investigations are abandoned. The Ministry of Security and Justice did not want to comment on the commissioners "opinion.".

Hague Municipal Councilman Insults Female Critic

Abdoe Khoulani who represents the Muslim Party of Unity of the City Council of The Hague, has repeatedly insulted Anneke Brons who criticized an extreme antisemitic comment made by Khoulani against visiting Israeli schoolchildren. He called her a “blonde bitch” and went on to say: “You showed you’re a retarded dumb broad… That face of yours. That’s disgusting. That ugly, ugly, white face of yours.”

The Hague Mayor silent on Muslim Councilman inciting remarks

Israeli ambassador Aviv Shir-on asked Pauline Krikke, Mayor of The Hague to condemn Muslim city council member Abdoe Khoulani, who had called a Group of Israeli high school students visiting the Dutch parliament "future Zionist terrorists, occupiers and those who murder children." Krikke refused to respond to Khoulani’s comments. (Remark: It is not the first time Krikke fails to act properly on Muslim misbehavior. When she was Mayor of Arnhem, she told volunteer Mehmet Shahin, who was harassed by Turkish Muslims, to “go into hiding,” rather than giving him police protection.)

Reign of Terror at Leiden University

Muslim Municipal Counselor Calls Israeli School Children Future Child Murderers


Abdoe Khoulani, a Muslim member of the Hague Municipal Council, has called Israeli school children future child murderers. The Israeli children were visiting the Protestant SGP Party.  The youth section of the SGP has put forward a complaint to the police.  In 2014 he supported ISIS and wrote on Facebook ‘long live ISIS and let’s go to Baghdad to attack the scum there.’  After much criticism, he apologized.

Dutch industry does not reduce greenhouse gases

An analysis by the Dutch weekly, the Groene Amesterdammer shows that the Dutch industry is a poor performer as far as the emissions of greenhouse gases are concerned. While the emissions of the European industry have been reduced by 26% since 2005, those of the Netherlands have increased by 2%.  The paper says that without efforts of the industry, climate policies are useless.

Lawyer: In 1977 Dutch soldiers executed Hostage Taker

Law professor Liesbeth Zegveld claims that in 1977 Dutch marines killed two Moluccan hostage takers of a train after they were no longer a threat and did not offer resistance. As lawyer of their descendants she is taking the Dutch State to court for abuse of its monopoly of violence. Zegveld claims also that the Dutch soldiers used prohibited types of munition.

Arnhem Hospital Sperm Bank Allows One Man to Father 50 Kids

It has now become known from a confidential report drawn up by health inspectors in 2014 that the sperm bank at Rijnstate Hospital in Arnhem has allowed one donor to father 50 children.  This is contrary to Dutch legislation which allows sperm donors to father up to 25 children.  Other findings were that 15 donors at the Arnhem Sperm Bank had an average of 36 children each.  One doctor is accused of fathering dozens of children himself.

Director of Soccer Club Gets Police Protection after Threats

Bart van Ingen, General Director of the NEC Soccer Club has been threatened by supporters of the club.  The club was demoted from the top league of Dutch soccer.  The threats were mainly on social media.  As a precaution, van Ingen now has police protection.

Dutch Deputy Mayor Goes into Hiding in UK after Threats


Deputy Mayor Bouke Arends of Emmen has been in hiding in the UK for three weeks after the Dutch public prosecution told him that his life was in danger.  The prosecution linked the threats to the closure of the local home of the motorclub, No Surrender.  This closure occurred after the police told him that structural crimes such as drug trade and violence took place at the motorclub.  No arrests were made.

The Netherlands is Down to 15th Place in the World Children’s Rights Index

The Netherlands is now in the 15th place in the latest International League Table.  This Table was established by the KidsRights Foundation at Rotterdam Erasmus University.  The study lists 165 countries on how they adhere to international standards for children’s rights.  Two years ago the Netherlands was in 2nd place.  Now it is behind countries such as Thailand, Tunisia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Asylum Seekers Jump from One Country to Another

The Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) last year identified twice as many asylum seekers who were seeking asylum in two or more asylum countries. In 2016, more than 10,000 were identified as opposed to 4,800 in 2015. Yet the Service does not catch them due to the fact that before they can be caught they have already moved to another country.

An extreme right website lists Jewish Dutch people. The Jewish information center CIDI is demanding that the list be taken down immediately. It says that violent antisemites may use the list in many ways.

COCAINE CONVICT DISAPPEARS

Drug trafficker Cetin G. who had been convicted for trafficking 15 000 kilo of cocain has cut his ankle monitor and disappeared. Albert Springer of the Dutch police union said that the court which send him away with solely an ankle monitor made an incomprehensible decision.

KLM: Mismanagement causes extreme passenger waiting times at Amsterdam Airport

KLM operational director Rene de Groot says that mismanagement at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is to blame for the extreme long waiting times at the checking of hand luggage at the airport. He added that the airport has aimed at unnecessary growth and neglected investment in the required infrastructure.

15 Injured by Smoke Bombs Thrown at Soccer Match


15 people were injured when a large smoke bomb was thrown during a first league soccer match at the Eindhoven Philips Football Stadium.  The victims suffered from respiratory problems and burning eyes.  A smaller smoke bomb was set off a few minutes later.  The game was between visiting Ajax Amsterdam and the local BSV team.

Dutch Child Porn Pastor Had Told Church about His Sexual Preferences

A 53 year old Dutch pastor of the old Catholic Church – not to be confused with the Roman Catholic Church – has been arrested in Cambodia on suspicion of producing child pornography involving young teenage boys.  He had been providing pastoral care at Amsterdam Airport and had been paying boys all younger than 15 years old to pose for him.  Police found almost 1300 nude photographs on his camera and Ipad.  He claimed that he had told church officials of his sexual preference for young boys.

Public Prosecutor to Start Criminal Probe into Gas Company


A court has ordered the public prosecution to carry out a criminal investigation into earthquake damage caused by natural gas extraction by the NAM company in Groningen.  NAM is a joint venture between Shell and Exxon Mobil.  A lawyer who represents people whose home has been damaged by earthquakes resulting from the gas extraction claimed that if there is evidence that senior NAM officials knew about the damage they could face up to 15 years in jail.

Drug dealing in Supporters' Home of Top Soccer Club

Police have arrested five people in an operation against drug dealing in and around the stadium of the Dutch first league soccer club FC Twente. Drugs were found in the supporters’ home. The police is investigating the relationship between fanatical supporters and a motorcycle gang. The mayor of Enchede is considering closing the supporters’ home.

Eritrean Asylum Seekers Holiday in Eritrea

There are reports that Eritrean asylum seekers in the Netherlands who have received asylum because they are threatened in their own country go on holiday in great numbers in Eritrea.  The Dutch Justice Department does not intervene.  There is also information that the same thing happens with Iraqi, Iranian and Sudanese asylum seekers who holiday in the country they flee from.

Intelligence Service: Radical Salafists threaten and use Violence

The general intelligence service AIVD writes in its annual report that salafists try to become Board members of mosques. In a number of cases violence was used. The AIVD writes that, even if in most cases these people do not break the law, intimidation and threatening with violence do not fit an open democratic society.

Police on High Alert When Dutch Turks Vote

The national police and local authorities will be on high alert during the days when Dutch Turks can vote on the Turkish referendum next week from Wednesday until Sunday.  The extra security is especially required after the riots by Belgian Turks in front of the Turkish Embassy in Brussels.  A spokesperson for the national police said: “We are keeping our eyes and ears open.”

Dutch Intelligence Services Violated Eavesdropping Rules

The body which oversees the intelligence services, CTIVD, has concluded that between October 2015 and March 2016, the Dutch intelligence services, AIVD and MIVD, violated multiple rules by eavesdropping on conversations with lawyers and journalists.  They did so without the necessary permission from a special commission.

Netherlands Helps Big International Companies to Avoid Tax

Government officials have warned Dutch Deputy Minister of Finance, Eric Wiebes, that the Netherlands will face increasing European pressure to change its fiscal approach of helping big companies to avoid paying tax abroad.  The rules for this have been hidden from parliament despite various requests.  One expert summarized it saying:  “We don’t think it is a problem to help companies avoid tax as long as it isn’t forbidden.  It is legal, we earn money from it.  Why should we stop.”

Amsterdam: Blood Test possibly infected Tens

About 60 people who had their blood sugar levels tested at the GGD (Municipal Health Service) in Amsterdam city center may have been infected with HIV, hepatitis B or hepatitis C. "It is a very small chance", GGD spokesperson stressed, but the chance exists. The Healthcare Inspectorate also launched an investigation.

Half at Risk Households in Trouble

Increasingly tenants in rent controlled property are getting into financial difficulty as rents continue to rise. This results from a report by  the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency. In 2012, 37% of high-risk tenants were at risk of having problems paying their bills over the previous three year period, but this had risen to almost 55% by 2015, the agency said.

Erdogan Wanted Huge Meeting in the Netherlands

Even before two Turkish ministers wanted to speak in the Netherlands and were prevented from doing so, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wanted to visit the Netherlands and speak in a stadium to Dutch Turks.  All possible major covered locations however refused to rent their space.  This led to the cancellation of his visit.

Portuguese Prime Minister calls for Dijsselbloem to stand down

The head of Eurozone finance ministers, outgoing Dutch Labour Party Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem has said: “Anyone demanding EU solidarity also has obligations.” He added: "I can't spend all my money on liqueurs and women and then go and ask for your support." This is seen as an attack on indebted southern European states. Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa has said Dijsselbloem should stand down as head of the Eurogroup. Italy's ex-prime minister, Matteo Renzi, took to Facebook to condemn "stupid remarks against southern Europe, starting with Italy and Spain".

Major Dutch Bank suspected of Corruption and Money laundering

The major Dutch ING Bank is suspected of facilitating international corruption and money laundering. The bank writes in its annual report that the Prosecution in both The Netherlands and the U.S has started a criminal investigation. The bank indicates that if there will be fines they might be substantial. According to the prosecution one of the cases investigated concerns bribes of the telecom company VimpelCom to a functionary of the Uzbek government.

European Commission Fines Air France KLM 310 Million Euros

The European Commission has fined Air France KLM 310 million Euros for price fixing and collusion in the air cargo market.  In total 11 airlines were fined with an amount of nearly 800 million Euro.  The airlines had been charged with making secret agreements between 1999 and 2006.

Two Turkish Diplomats Arrested in Rotterdam

Various Dutch and Turkish government sources claim that two Turkish diplomats were arrested in Rotterdam and kept two hours in police cells. Other Dutch sources deny this. Geert Jan Knoops, professor of international law, recommends that the Netherlands apologizes to Turkey, as otherwise Trukey might win an international court case against the Netherlands.

Threats force Municipal Councilor to take Leave of Absence

Dutch-Turkish Christian Democrat municipal councilor in Rotterdam Turan Yazir is taking a leave of absence from his faction due to threats. Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah has published Yazir's full name and a photo and called him partly responsible for the political fallout between the Netherlands and Turkey. His faction declared that the tensions in the Turkish community in Rotterdam have such an impact that it is impossible for Yazir to duly exercise his duties as councilor. The Turkish newspaper calls Yazir a politician that works with "fascists in the Netherlands, like Geert Wilders".

Dutch Consulate in Istanbul Cancels Evening After Elections

A group of Dutch inhabitants of Istanbul were supposed to meet at the Dutch consulate to view the results of the elections.  The Consul General advised those who were expected to come to instead watch the results individually at home. One of the employees said that there are difficulties with the security even though the number of Turkish demonstrators at the Consulate has decreased significantly.

Erdogan accuses Dutch of Carrying out Massacre in Srebrenica

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused the Netherlands of massacring of 8000 Bosninas in Srebrenica. He said so in a speech televised live. In fact it were however Bosnian Serbs who carried out the mass murder. The Dutch peace keepers failed to protect the Bosnian Muslims and fled Srebrenica. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that Erdogan’s remarks were a “repugnant historical falsehood.”

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated its travel advice for Turkey. The Dutch does warn Dutch travelers to watch out for gatherings and avoid public places. These warnings are on top of the existing advice of risks in Turkey due to terrorist attacks and political tensions.

Riots Follow Dutch expulsion of Turkish Minister

Turkey’s family minister, Fatma Betul Sayan Kaya, was prevented from reaching the Turkish consulate in Rotterdam and was taken to the German border by police and expelled from the Netherlands.  She was trying to win support among expatriates for a referendum on expanding Turkish presidential powers. The Dutch government forbade such rallies as they would stoke tensions before the Dutch general parliamentary elections on Wednesday. Afterwards, Dutch-Turkish demonstrators started riots. The police used officers on horseback and water cannons to disperse about 1,000 people from outside the Turkish consulate. There were some wounded and several arrests were made.

Erdogan: Dutch are Nazi Remnants and Fascists

The Netherlands has refused to give permission to the plane of the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavosuglu to land. He intended to speak in Rotterdam today in support of a referendum which will give President Erdogan more powers. The rally was cancelled by the Dutch authorities for security reasons. Cavosuglu had warned that Turkey would impose heavy sanctions if his visit were blocked. Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan has now described the Dutch as “Nazi remnants and fascists.”

Rutte: Turkish Ministers Speaking About National Issues Not Wanted


Turkish affairs foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, intends to press ahead with a visit to the Netherlands.  He is campaigning in favor of a referendum to give Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, greater power. The minister has said that he may, however, delay his visit until after the Dutch parliamentary election on March 15.  Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb has said that he believes public order could be at risk if there is a meeting in Rotterdam. Prime Minister Rutte said, “It is not that we want to stop Turkish politicians in general, but Turkish ministers who want to speak about purely national issues are not wanted.”

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte could hardly speak at the talk show of Pauw and Jinek. Residents of the Groningen province shouted and booed him. One of his opponents said that 76 000 damage reports have been made during his prime ministership concerning gas exploiation in the province.

Turkish Minister: Netherlands Taken Hostage by Wilders

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said that with the resistance against campaign meetings by Turkish politicians in the Netherlands, the country has been taken hostage by Geert Wilders. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the meantime, has put in an official request to be able to run its election campaign in the Netherlands among Turks living there. The Dutch government has immediately rejected this.

Extremist Imam supports Denk Party

The extreme Salafist Imam Fawaz Jneid has advised his supporters to vote in the Dutch elections for the Denk party led by the Turkish born Tunahan Kuzu. He did so in a videomessage in Arabic. In the past he has wished death and terrible sicknesses on Ayaan Hirisi Ali and Theo van Gogh, who has murdered in 2004.

Deputy Prime Minister Asscher:Taking Risks to Get Into Trouble with Turkey Is Worth It


Deputy Prime Minister, Lodewijk Asscher, has said that the Dutch government is looking into the possibilities to prohibit Turkish cabinet ministers from coming to the Netherlands. They want to promote voting for a referendum in Turkey among Dutchmen of Turkish origin.  He added that it is worthwhile to run into a conflict with Turkey on this matter. PVV leader, Geert Wilders, called on the Dutch cabinet to declare all Turkish government members undesirable persons for the near future and thus not to grant them visas.

Murderer of Theo van Gogh destroys Kitchen of High Security Prison

Mohammed B., the radical Muslim who murdered media person  Theo van Gogh in 2004, serves a life sentence in the high security prison in Vught. He has entirely destroyed a kitchen there. He did so after a request of his to speak to the prison manager was refused.
