Parliamentarians Oppose Shariah Law Excesses in The Hague

After articles in the daily Trouw, various parliamentarians have expressed the opinion that excesses concerning the application of Shariah law will have to be countered. Keklik Yucel of the Labor Party said that the authorities have to act immediately when Muslim enclaves are developing in neighborhoods. Geert Wilders, leader of the Freedom Party wants a rapid parliamentary debate on this. Sadet Karabulut of the Socialist Party said that her own experiences in the Schilderswijk neighborhood in The Hague are identical to those published in the daily. Also the members of the terrorist Hofstadgroep met close to that neighborhood before they were arrested.
