Economist: Netherlands Welcomes Foreign Organ Criminals

Marcel Canoy, Professor of Economics at the University of Tilburg said that there is no other case in the Netherlands where the country is so welcoming of criminality as in organ trading. In the Netherlands itself, it is forbidden to pay donors for making parts of their bodies available, people are also not allowed to offer such material for payment. Yet, it is permissible to buy such material abroad – that means that the Netherlands stimulates criminal organ traders who turn poor people in India and China into their victims. www.volkskrant.nl/vk/nl/10764/ESB-Economenblog/article/detail/3257358/2012/05/18/De-Nederlandse-overheid-rolt-de-rode-loper-uit-voor-orgaan-criminelen.dhtml
