If one steals from a shop, that has no priority for the Dutch police unless the thief is caught red-handed. These are the results of a study by the Detailhandel Nederland, an interest group of shopkeepers. In one region of the Netherlands, the police only investigate if the damage is more than 25,000 Euro. Dutch Parliamentarians are shocked by this.
