Historian: Dutch Report on Post-War War Crimes in Indonesia Incomplete

Historian Cees Fasseur, a biographer of the royal family, says that the so-called "excessennota", which describes the war crimes of Dutch soldiers in Indonesia between 1945-49, is incomplete and was hastily written. He himself authored this report in 1969. Fasseur says that the work of the Commission of Civil Servants was rather improvised. Reports do not mention farmers killed because the Dutch soldiers thought they were Indonesian fighters. Also, the number of men murdered in the village of Rawagede was not about 20 as reported, but rather between 100-120. www.trouw.nl/nieuws/nederland/article1914897.ece/_Nota_over_wandaden_in_Indonesie_is_onvolledig_.html
